Jump to RecipeWhat makes this banana bread “healthier”?
Well, for starters we only use natural sugar in this recipe! I opt for maple syrup and coconut sugar, but brown sugar can replace the coconut sugar. It’s made with a combination of almond flour and oat flour (gluten free certified oats are perfect to make this gluten free!) which gives it such a soft mouth-feel while still holding its shape! It’s gluten free, dairy free, made with unrefined sugar and no nuts!
Below are some health benefits to the star ingredients;)
Bananas: Rich in potassium, vitamins, and antioxidants! They can help with digestive health and are the star of the show, offering perfect natural sweetness and flavor.
Almond flour: Nutrient rich in vitamin E, magnesium, and healthy fats! It also supports heart health and blood sugar control.
Oat flour: Super rich in fiber which benefits the digestive health. It’s also a whole grain that provides nutrients like vitamin B and iron.
Maple syrup: Contains antioxidants and nutrients like manganese and zinc. Since it’s a natural sweetener, it’s considered low-glycemic compared to refined sugars. It won’t raise your blood sugar and leave you with a crash!
Why should I make this recipe?
Sometimes we get stuck baking the same recipes over and over again. Banana bread is a STAPLE for many reasons, but sometimes we gotta change things up. This cinnamon crunch version tastes like coffee cake and banana bread had a baby. It smells divine and tastes even better than you could imagine. If that’s not selling you, I don’t know what will. Not to mention, this banana bread is extremely moist. Like I don’t know how it’s so moist. Anyways, I think you really need to give it a try;)
