Jump to RecipeWhat ingredients do I need to make this cookie dough blizzard?
Well, I am so glad you asked! For this recipe, we have the base (aka the nice cream layer) and the cookie dough (my favorite part)!
The most important thing for this recipe is frozen bananas. I know some people hate frozen bananas, so I will be working on a banana-free version of this recipe to accommodate those preferences. Anwyas, you will need to freeze bananas ahead of time. Just peel them and break them into medium chunks. Then seal them in a Ziploc bag and pop them into the freezer.
Ingredients for the base:
- Frozen bananas
- TumLove vanilla protein powder (or any vanilla protein powder)
- Almond butter
- Rolled oats
- Chocolate chips (I use dark, stevia-sweetened chocolate chips!)
- Almond milk
- Vanilla extract
Ingredients for the cookie dough:
- Almond flour
- Vanilla protein powder (I use TumLove)
- Almond butter (drippy is best)
- Maple syrup
- Chocolate chips
- Vanilla extract and salt: optional!
The ingredients for the cookie dough are very customizable, and the ratios may want to be changed depending on your desired sweetness. Alternatively, you could make my other healthy cookie dough recipe. There are a few changes, but both are delicious.
Dietary Accommodations?
I love this recipe because, as someone who is intolerant to dairy, I really appreciate dairy-free ice cream. Not only is this recipe dairy free, but it is also low-FODMAP, gluten-free (with GF oats), refined sugar-free, AND vegan!

Further notes:
For your information, this smoothie serves one person, but the cookie dough will serve at least two! I like to make the full cookie dough and then store it in the fridge for a sweet snack throughout the week. I have been making this recipe for so long and make it whenever my sweet tooth hits. I even make it for breakfast sometimes;)
Without further ado, here’s the recipe!
Protein Cookie Dough Blizzard

- ¼ cup rolled oats GF if needed
- 1 tbsp drippy almond butter
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- ½ cup almond milk or any other milk!*

- ⅓ cup almond flour
- 1 tbsp vanilla protein powder
- 2 tbsp maple syrup
- ¼ cup almond butter
- ½ tsp vanilla extract
- 1 sprinkle salt
- 2 tbsp chocolate chips I use stevia-sweetened, but any kind will work!
Instructions
- First, make the cookie dough. To make mixing easier, add the almond butter, maple syrup, and vanilla in a small bowl first. Then stir until combined.
- Then add the almond flour, protein powder, chocolate chips, and salt. S Mmix until a dough forms. You can either roll the dough into small, bite-sized balls or crumble the dough on top.
- Next, combine all the base ingredients in your blender. Turn your blender on and gradually increase the speed. I recommend using a blender tool to help the nice cream fully come together with no banana chunks! *
- Finally, it's assembly time! Add your base to a bowl or glass and layer the cookie dough as desired. Enjoy right away! Store any leftover cookie dough in the refrigerator!
