Jump to RecipeWhat ingredients do I need to make these bites?
Well, I am so glad you asked! The ingredients for these energy balls are pretty basic. See the list below!
- Old-fashioned or rolled oats (gf works too)
- Maple syrup
- 1 ripe banana
- Peanut butter (I recommend creamy for this recipe, but drippy will work too. Any nut/seed butter will work here!)
- Chia seeds
- Chocolate protein powder (I use this brand!)
- Vanilla extract
- Ground cinnamon
- Salt
- Dark chocolate chips (I use BakeBelieve)
As you can tell, it’s a simple list. Just make sure your banana is on the riper side to make this recipe even more flavorful!
Why should I make these energy bites?
In my opinion, having snacks at the ready is a mandatory supply. These energy bites are so easy and make enough to have a quick snack at any time throughout the week! They are high in protein, fiber, healthy fats, and so many vitamins and nutrients. Plus, they taste like chocolate chip banana bread. What could be better than that?
Not only can they be made gluten free, they are made with unrefined sugar and no dairy! Totally vegan too. If you have a nut allergy, feel free to swap for sunflower seed butter! They take literally less than 10 minutes to make. It’s too easy of a snack not to make!
