Jump to RecipeWhat do I need to make these honey puff bars?
You only need 3 ingredients, cinnamon, vanilla extract, and salt are recommended but completely optional!
- Rice puffs (I use this brand)
- Drippy almond butter (almond butter can be substituted for any nut butter!)
- Raw honey (to make vegan, sub maple syrup)
- Optional flavor enhancers: cinnamon, vanilla extract, and sea salt
What makes these bars “healthy?”
These honey puff bars are healthy because the 3 ingredients provide sources of whole grains (rice puffs), healthy fats and protein (almond butter), and antioxidants in the raw honey. There are studies coming out discussing the possible benefits raw honey has on one’s gut health. I think that is another testament to the benefits of raw honey. Some people say that honey is the same as sugar. While, yes, it still is sugar, its benefits make it worth enjoying. There is no need to fear sweeteners! The honey in these puff bars reminds me of the classic breakfast cereal honey nut cheerios! Basically, what I grew up on as a kid.
I prefer to eat these bars with some yogurt in the morning or as a snack before dinner! I cannot stress how easy these bars are to make, truly. If you are looking for another recipe similar to this one, try my honey nut cereal bites!
